I love to read and have passed the love of books onto the kids.  We could read for hours and hours and hours every day.  Every so often, I like to take our book a little farther and make a craft or activity to go along with it.  Last year on our Books We Love Fridays, we shared Five Little Pumpkins.  This book is so much fun to read and it is a great story for practicing simple math concepts with the kids.

We have a bunch of activities that we like to do do but a snack to go along with our theme is always the kids’ favorite.  Since it is Halloween and we just came in from the garden from picking our pumpkins, it seemed only fitting that we had a pumpkin themed snack to go along with it.

Using NABISCO Go-Paks! in a variety of flavors, some Snack Pack® Pudding Cups and some Reddi Wip Original which is a favorite of the kids right now.  I KNEW that I could have some fun with it.  The kids love the Go-Paks!  because they are filled with some of their favorite cookies; TEDDY GRAHAMS Honey Graham Snacks, Mini OREO Chocolate Sandwich Cookies, CHIPS AHOY! Mini Chocolate Chip Cookies, NUTTER BUTTER Bites Sandwich Cookies {my favorite} and the  Mini OREO Golden Sandwich Cookies.  I love that they are only $1 at Walmart and we can really stock up on them.  Go-Paks in store photoThe other thing I love is that we can reuse the containers to hold small toys, barrettes, or refill with snacks another time.  Or we use the lids to put our glue or paint on for projects.  Anyways, I knew they would love it if I added in some Snack Pack® Pudding Cups and topped it with some Reddi Wip. Snack Packs, Go-Paks and Reddi-Wip I wanted to add a special touch to make it look like a pumpkin so I added some colored sugar to the top, covered the Go-Paks! in orange paper to look like pumpkins and added some cute little tags to go along with the 5 Little Pumpkins story.  {You can print the tags out at the bottom}.  Here are step by step directions.

We all had fun mixing and matching our favorite Go-Paks! and Snack Pack Pudding and adding the finishing touches.  Then we read the story as we ate our snacking calling out whoever was eating that piece of the story.
