Researching homeschool curriculum is kind of a hobby of mine. I love changing things up when I find something that will work great with our family. I love it when I need to add something to our curriculum and I have multiple options at my fingertips. This is why I love having the opportunity to review SchoolhouseTeachers.com and the Ultimate PreK-12 Annual Membership. It can be as customized as I want and need it to be.

I like to build my own curriculum but if that’s not your style – SchoolhouseTeachers.com also offers a scope and sequence option. I find this extremely helpful for subjects that I’m unsure of. If you are looking for full curriculum options, you can browse by grade level and look through the options for every grade level. If you are just looking for one subject, you can look through the scope and sequence of classes for that subject as well. There is so much flexibility in choosing what works best for your family.

The video library is another place you will want to check out. You can browse by subject. There are videos for kids, high school, adults and so much more.

The literacy center is packed full of tips and tools for making reading work for your kids. Looking for something specific? Check out the focused learning centers where you can search classes with a focus like Charlotte Mason, Hands-on Learning, Special Needs and more {including a parent focus}.

The lesson plans are so easy to follow. They are clearly labeled with how long each course is, what materials you need and then it’s broken down by day with a checklist to mark it off as your child completes it. We have been working through some Language Arts Grammar programs for 2nd and 3rd grade I love the Daily Grammar for 3rd and 4th grade because we can go lesson by lesson but if there is something specific that I feel she needs to work on, I can skip to that lesson. The lessons go quickly and each lesson focuses on one particular part of grammar.  As you look through the courses, I highly recommend that you bookmark the ones you want to use right away.

We will be starting Great Musicians soon and adding in some listening to each different musician.

There really is so much flexibility in choosing the courses you take or the scope and sequence of your school year.  The only downside I have found using it is that I have to print quite a bit of material.  Having said that, I like that I can only print the pages that I need to print so I don’t waste paper on things we don’t need to print just to throw out as soon as the lesson is over.

Head on over and check it out. I’d love to hear what classes or features you are most excited about so leave a comment and let’s chat.
