I was so excited to hear about the Best Buy Tech Home and I couldn’t wait to check it out. You see, I had no clue just how smart my home could be. Technology isn’t only fun, it’s useful too. I’m excited to share with you what I discovered today {and sad that I didn’t buy the refrigerator because it’s amazing!}. What is the Tech Home? Best Buy brought a demo home to life with some of the latest {and greatest} smart home products. From the front door to the bedroom and every big and little thing in between, they are going to wow you with some of the coolest gadgets ever and it all starts before you even enter the “house”.
The most important piece of any smart home is the SmartThings Hub. This is the brain of your connected home and it can connect to hundreds of devices wirelessly and allows you to control them all from the SmartThings app on your smartphone.
The first thing I was impressed by was the Samsung SmartThings arrival sensor. This allows you to stay connected to your kids, pets or anybody else you choose. By attaching a sensor to your kid’s backpack or your pet’s collar, you can be notified whenever they enter or leave the house. Not only that but you can set it to do certain tasks, like lock the door after they arrive home, automatically turn on the lights, etc..
I would love to have the Samsung SmartThings Outlet in my house. It allows you to do so much when you plug in your small appliances and lights. You can schedule lights to turn on or off at a certain time or perform certain tasks when certain events take place. How handy is that?!
You can get started with your connected home with a Samsung SmartThings Home Monitoring Kit. Included in the kit is the Samsung SmartThings Hub, two Samsung SmartThings Multipurpose Sensors, Samsung SmartThings Motion Sensor and a Samsung SmartThings Smart Outlet.
We all know our smart phones are part of our daily life, but what about a Samsung Galaxy Note 7! The S pen allows so much control over everything you are doing. I love the flexibility that this device allows me. I can do so much with just a simple touch of the screen.
Here are a few other fun things we discovered.
Not only is the Best Buy Tech Home so much fun to check out and will leave you drooling over the latest technology, but right now there are two chances to win.

Hey Shannon! I had a look at the difference between a competing hub called Wink, but it feels like Samsung Smartthings is just a wee bit better. I feel like these devices that we can incorporate in to our homes is so addictive!
Pretty cool. Over the years there was always some sort of “linked” home technology but the advent of WiFi and other things has made it so much better.
I enjoy learning about cool new home electronics like this. Thanks!
