Kids love stuff. More accurately, kids love to put stuff in things and carry it with them, or at least mine do. Maggie has a backpack that she fills with things when we are going somewhere so she has things to do while we are driving. Charlie will walk around with this really sad look on his face saying “backpack” in the cutest little 2 year old voice. When I got a chance to get him this PaddlePak splash proof kids backpack, I knew he would love it. I called him over to the computer and let him pick one out. If you have a 2 year old, you know what it was like when I had him choose. “I want this one” “This one” and on and on. It was so cute. I went with the one he pointed to the most, and he got this cute Blow Fish named Spike, but they are all so cute, I really love the shark.
When it arrived, he was so excited. Instead of that sad little face, he had a huge grin and was yelling backpack. {I seriously wish you could hear him say backpack, it is so adorable}. Maggie, however, was pretty bummed. Even though I told her she wasn’t getting one right now, she still picked one out and naturally assumed it would be here when Charlie’s arrived.
I love that it is water resistant. The kids love to bring their backpacks everywhere, and that includes the lake or the pool or out in the rain. The roll top closure with the breakaway safety buckle keep the stuff in and water out, but also is easy enough for the kids to open and close themselves. I can attest to the fact that the water that is in the bag stays in and doest leak out. Charlie left his water bottle partly opened and some of the water got dumped inside, but the outside of the bag was still dry. Not only that, but it makes an adorable mouth. See?
And, because kids lose things, there is a spot on the inside to write ID information on.
Have I mentioned that it is adorable? With the fins and markings to give it a realistic look, Charlie just looks so cute carrying his PaddlePak around.
Hidden in some of the fins and markings are 2 accessories loops, one on each side. The bottom fin is actually a dry zip pocket for those little treasures that my 2 year old always seems to find.
On the back of this backpack, there are reflective strips on the straps for that added safety. Just under one of those strips is a spot for your little one to hang their sunglasses – a must have if they will be taking this on all of those trips to the beach. The back of the backpack itself is made with a padded mesh. The straps are adjustable too, so Charlie will be able to keep wearing this backpack for quite a few years. You will also find a hook for hanging the backpack up when not in use.
Charlie absolutely loves his PaddlePak and fills it up every time that we head out somewhere. I love that because then they are a little more responsible with their things. Him and “Spike” are buddies now. You have to check out the rest of the PaddlePak backpacks. All of them are adorable, but I’m thinking it’s a good thing we didn’t get fin or Charlie would be chasing me around trying to bite me all day long!

I learned their toy boxes are stackable or you can connect them to make a train. Really neat idea, considering my daughter loves dumping out her toys and playing with the box they are in!
This would be great for my baby brother. I’m sure he would love that paddlepak!
