Dear Charlie,

Dear Charlie,

I have decided since my little man was born that each month, I will write them a letter to remind them (and me) how they have grown and changed.  I wish I had started this when Maggie was born.  I do have a journal that I still keep track in and have since I got pregnant with Maggie.  I scrapbook a lot, but haven’t had much time for it since having her, but someday all of those journaled thoughts will be in a scrapbook.
Charlie man
Happy 1 month birthday!  Wow how time has flown.  I can’t believe you are already a month old.  You have the sweetest face and the most amazing eyes.  They are blue just like daddy’s.  Everywhere we go, people say how much you look like your daddy and that makes him extremely proud.  You are such a mellow little guy.  You are a good sleeper and slept almost through the night as soon as we got home.  You love to be swaddled up when you sleep.

When you are breastfeeding, sometimes you spit me out, shove your arm in your mouth and then yell at me because you aren’t getting any milk. You took to breastfeeding like a champ right from the start.  Such a smart boy!

You already smile at me all the time.  All I have to do is look into your eyes and talk to you softly and smile.  Then you smile back and sometimes even try talking to me.  You have the cutest little voice.  And such a quiet voice!  Even when you get really mad, you are still pretty quiet.

You have very strong legs.  You rolled over on your one week birthday from your belly to your back.  I was very surprised by this!  When you are on your belly, you lift your head up pretty good and try looking around.

At your one month checkup, you weighed 10 lbs 7 ounces and were 23 inches long.  You’ve grown a lot.  You were 8 lbs 7 ounces at birth and 21 1/2 inches long.

I love you so much!  Seriously, by the ridiculous amount of pictures in this post, can you tell?

  • oh my goodness I LOVE that one of his first bath! They didn’t do the full bath at my hospital but that photo of yours is just sooo cute! 🙂
Congrats! LOVE the letter idea – try to do something similar but it’s not in letter format usually. Sometimes just a list of things I notice, sometimes a letter, sometimes a poem. I do it for months 1-12 then about every quarter after that.

    • I loved his face when he got that bath. He’s just enjoying it. He still enjoys it. Thanks!

that’s how I do their pictures too, once a month for the first year and then every 3 months after that. I saw the idea on somebody else’s blog, just don’t remember who, but I love it. Then it is fitting that I gush over how cute and smart I think my little ones are 🙂
