Everybody loves fall, right? The cool, crisp air and so many fun outdoor activities it’s hard to fit them all in. With my kids getting older, the things we do that they get excited about have changed. Check them out and grab the free printable!
Outdoor & Nature Activities
- Pumpkin Patch Adventure – Let them pick their own pumpkin for carving or baking.
- Fall Hike + Photo Challenge – Teens love using their phones; turn it into a photo scavenger hunt (find a red leaf, funky tree, squirrel, etc.).
- Bonfire Night – Roast marshmallows, tell stories, play acoustic music, or just chill under the stars.
- Corn Maze or Haunted Hayride – Seasonal, fun, and perfect with friends.
- Geocaching or Fall Foraging – Teens get a kick out of “treasure hunting” outdoors.
Cozy & Creative Activities
- DIY Caramel Apples or Pumpkin Treats – Cooking together makes for fun (and delicious) memories.
- Thrifted Fall Fashion Challenge – Give them $10–$15 to put together the coziest or quirkiest outfit.
- Crafting Natural Decor – Wreaths, leaf-pressing, or candle-making with essential oils.
- At-Home Movie Night – Fall classics or scary movies with popcorn + cozy blankets.
- Fall Photography Walk – Encourage them to shoot moody, aesthetic photos of autumn leaves or sunsets.
Community & Family Fun
- Volunteer at a Fall Festival or Farm – Teens can help with younger kids’ games or apple picking.
- Escape Room or Mystery Night – Many towns offer seasonal versions, or you can DIY one at home.
- DIY Haunted House in the Garage – Teens can take the lead designing it for neighborhood kids. Our garage is a hot mess so not sure this will happen this year but it’s definitely my goal for next year. My kids would LOVE this!
- Sports Under the Lights – Go to a high school football game, soccer match, or local fall sporting event.
