#gbgreenfam Mother Earth Baby – Flip Disposable Liners *Review*

I love family owned companies!  It feels wonderful to help support them and to share their story with others.  That is why I was happy when I had the opportunity to partner with Mother Earth Baby.

Mother Earth Baby is a division of Mother Earth Health Foods – a family owned and operated business for over 40 years.  You can check out their storefront in North Syracuse, NY or Oswego, NY.  They offer classes and workshops as well as a baby registry and a cloth diaper service.  They offer personal consultations by appointment and will discuss and demonstrate the many options available today.
They have been using cloth diapers with their famly for the last 12 years and still have one in diapers.  They take great pride in the fact that most of the products they sell have also been used on their own children so they can share their personal experiences with you.
I have been talking with Lisa back and forth for awhile and she has been a pleasure to work with.  I hope you take the time to check out Mother Earth Baby and all of their great products. If you have any questions, be sure to call or email – they will be glad to help!  And, they don’t just carry cloth diapers, they have products for mom, for baby and for the home!

Lisa was kind enough to send me two items for review – FLIP One Size Disposable Inserts and Blueberry Trainers.  Today I want to share with you our experience with the FLIP One Size Disposable Inserts.

I will admit, when Lisa first asked if I wanted to review these, I was a bit leary.  I took a trip last year and used some other disposable inserts and was very disappointed.  I had tons of leaks and they didn’t stay in place.  But…I really wanted to have some disposable inserts to use for camping or whenever else we may need them, so I decided to give them a shot.

The FLIP disposable inserts are dye free, fragrance free and have achieved Oeko – Tex certification.  They are perfect for travel, daycare, and other moments where nothing else will do.  Because I was leary of trying these, I decided to try them out at home first.

I was surprised by how much I liked using them.  I was able to put them in my FLIP covers as well as my other covers and never once had a leak. They even contained the really nasty messes these little monkeys can make.  I even put one on my daughter during naptime and it held up.  I did find that since the inserts are trimmer than cloth inserts, it worked best to snap up the rise setting a little more.

They come in a pack of 18 and are made of non – woven bamboo viscose, wood pulp SAP and starch based glue.

The FLIP disposable inserts are very easy to use.  Simply lay in the cover, fold the edges out, and snap or velcro onto baby.

I found that sometimes if my little one was really wiggly, it was sometimes easier to pull the insert over baby, then snap the cover closed around it.

I was happy that unlike other disposable inserts I have used, these stayed in place when putting them on, and while they were wearing them. I was concerned that because they are one size that they wouldn’t work well on the little guy because they would be super bulky.  I was glad to see that wasn’t the case.  I just laid the insert in, snapped down the rise to where I wanted it and put it on him.  Because of the flap on the cover, you can fold the insert down and tuck it in there and it fit him just as well as it fit Maggie.

As you can see, they are very trim, yet very absorbent inserts.  If you are looking for a disposable insert, I highly recommend these.  While I have only tried one other brand, the FLIP inserts are the ones that I would willingly buy and use again.  Plus, at only $4.95 a pack, they are very affordable.
And…Mother Earth Baby has graciously offered up a $20 gift card to one lucky winner during the Green Family Giveaway Event next week so be sure to sign up for email updates so you don’t miss out!

*Disclosure – I received the product free of charge for the purpose of this review.  The opinions are 100 % my own*
