#GoodLife Moments

This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of Allstate for SocialSpark. All opinions are 100% mine.

To say life is full of ups and downs is an understatement.  My life hasn’t always been easy, but it’s definitely been fun and filled with good life moments.  I am blessed with a very large family and we get together as often as possible.  We aim for every month, but there are 20+ people so with sports, work, and other commitments, it can be tough.  We have learned to really enjoy our time together.  Just this last weekend, we all spent the holiday weekend at the cabin together and it was a blast.  Riddled with tons of games, silliness, laughter, and, when my nephew jumped in the lake, landed on a stump, had to go to the ER for stitches, even tears that he held back until he was almost to the hospital.

Right now, we are celebrating my just today turned 11 month old son walking.  Well, mostly celebrating, but a lot of scared!  That boy is a climber and is going to give me a heart attack, but it sure is fun watching him learn and celebrating with him.  My 2 1/2 year old little girl is “writing” and I love when she tries to copy me as I write her name, or when she draws and then shares her stories with me.

About 7 years ago, I made the decision to quit my teaching job to become a real estate agent.  If you are doing the math, you are thinking I am nuts for doing that!  Not exactly a good time to be a real estate agent, right?  I was very scared, but am so glad that I made the decision to do it.  It hasn’t been easy, and I do not do record sales every year, but I get to stay home and raise my little ones and still be able to contribute to our family financial situation.  The kids just go along for the ride.

As a teenager, I was forced into a situation I would rather not have been.  My parents died suddenly and we had to not only deal with the loss, but we had to move from our little town of 500 people to a large city in another state with a class size that was double the size of our town.  Culture shock doesn’t even begin to describe it.  It took a few years, but I finally shook myself out of it and moved on.  Making new friends was much harder than I could have imagined.  I have learned to embrace our family and be grateful that my aunt and uncle were so wonderful that they could take us in and raise us as they did their own kids.  We had to overcome alot, but my sisters and I are doing great and all have families of our own now.

Allstate recognizes that there are risks everywhere in life but we can’t let them hold us back from having a good life.
