The green answer to art supplies {Stocking Idea}

Aside from Maggie’s recent addiction to TV, if I ask her what she wants to do, the answer will involve art in some way, shape or form.  And, as any of you with more than one kid know, what one does, the other is sure to want to do too.  I am all for a mess and have no problems with Charlie painting too, but he also likes to eat it, so I am kind of picky what paints he uses just in case I don’t catch him.  That is why I am so excited about Green Apple Supply – the green answer to art supplies.

Stephanie founded Green Apple Supply because she realized the need for more eco friendly products at an affordable price.  By prioritizing compassion over their profit margin, Green Apple Supply has done just that.

We received the Glob Paint Kit and the Friendly Dry Erase Markers for review.

Green Apple Supply, Glob Paint Kit

The Glob Paint Kit is awesome!  6 fun, natural, non toxic colors that become paint when you add water.  How much you add determines how thick the paint is, so it could be like watercolor paint, fingerprint, or tempera paint.  It also comes with 6 reusable compostable containers with lids to mix and store the paint in.  Each packet contains enough to make between 1 and 3 ounces of paint.  Mix only what you need at a time, and leave the rest in the packet.  The paint kit also comes with 2 bamboo brushes.  Because it is made from fruits, vegetables, flowers and spices, the organic extracts smell amazing!  The colors {and smells} are:  pomegranate, lemon verbena, berry blue, plum purple, tangerine, and basil green.  They are also made in the USA.  In the paint kit, you will also find recipes to paint Easter eggs, and make play dough with it, as well as a website with more ideas for the Glob Paint Kit.  This paint hit has been such a hit in our house.  The kids love it.  And the compostable, reusable containers are perfect for all of our art projects.  At only $8.50 for the whole paint kit, it is very affordable for us to use.

The Friendly Whiteboard / Dry Erase Markers come in a 4 pack with bullet tip with red, blue, green and black.  The marker tube is made with recycled paper reducing the use of plastic by 60%.  The polyester fiber tip is filled with non toxic, alcohol based ink.  A more earth friendly dry erase marker than any other you will find.  I love having dry erase markers for the kids to use.  They love to draw on paper, but may only make a few marks and then move onto another piece.  With the dry erase markers, they can just erase and start over wasting even less.  Plus, dry erase markers are pretty easy to clean up.  The kids can take these markers, along with their dry erase write boards in the car with us.  They are excited because I let them write with markers and I don’t worry as much when Charlie tries to eat it.  $4 for the 4 pack means you can let the kids write with them without breaking the bank.
