I’m so excited to start our first official homeschool year. I’ve been having so much fun getting everything ready. I love our main curriculum – Moving Beyond the Page. I’m excited about the themed units and the way it ties it all together with a final project. The kids and I will have a blast working on these final projects together. We will be having a lot of fun and I’ve been working on a few other things to make it even more fun for all of us. Maggie has been able to write all of her letters since she was three so I want to make sure I have a lot of fun, creative ways to engage her in writing. She needs the practice but I don’t want her to be bored. I had so much fun setting up our writing center and now I finished our word wall with 20 words for our first unit – habitats. Since habitats involve animals, I know this is going to get her excited about school.
I’m hoping to use our word wall to get her writing her own stories about what we are currently learning about. She already enjoys her My First Story Writing Book because it makes writing FUN! You can grab your FREE printables for the habitat word wall below. Check back soon for more habitat fun like six different sensory bins for the different habitats.
