I love handmade items, and Etsy is one of my very favorite places to find some wonderful items made by some amazing people. When I heard Julie from Adelaide’s Attic was looking for some bloggers to review some items, I quickly headed over to her shop to see what kinds of goodies she made. Then, I checked out her Facebook album where she has even more handmade items. When I stumbled on personalized name pillows, I knew exactly what I wanted {my kids} to review.
Charlie had just discovered that he could flip his leg over the top of his crib and get out of it. I was so bummed! This was the last place I could contain him when he was causing a lot of trouble. So, the next day, we converted his crib into an adorable toddler bed. His new pillow arrived that day and we were able to really make his bed his own.
I really love the taggies on it. While Charlie doesn’t actually sleep with a pillow, he will keep touching it with his tiny little fingers. I am *hoping* that this helps him calm himself when it is time for sleep, since that is a huge challenge we are facing right now.
The pillows happened to arrive moments before nap time one day which was perfect. I pulled them out, showed them to the kids, and Maggie’s reaction was so priceless. I had only looked at the names, I hadn’t flipped them over yet. When I talked with Julie and let her know what I had in mind, I simply said, something boyish for Charlie, and princess-y for Maggie. What Maggie’s pillow had on the back couldn’t have been more fitting for this little princess. With multiple princesses doing different things on the back, Maggie laid down with it, princess side up, and began telling stories about the princesses. I couldn’t stop smiling. It was so adorable! Way to go Julie!!! Perfect choice.
The pillows are just the perfect size for little toddler bodies and their little toddler beds. I imagine that the pillows will end up getting washed plenty because they get carried around quite a bit by both kids. Upstairs, downstairs, the car. They are easy for them to take anywhere. And, I really love personalized items. I love when the kids have things with their names on them. They can trace the letters in their name and practice learning them.
