My Giveaway
I have always been a reader. Always! When waiting at a restaurant, or sitting in the sun, I would rather read a book than use my smartphone. Since becoming pregnant, I had hoped to instill that in my children. Reading has so many benefits that will stick with you forever! To me, there is nothing more beautiful than a new book, you should see the “candy store” look on my face when I go to the bookstore. Now, at 2 1/2, Maggie will ask me to “play books”. Learning to read, as well as understanding what you are reading is something that will benefit a child from the early ages, on through adulthood. Getting those brain wheels turning and encouraging even more learning can all be gained from books. I love that she is already learning to read! It is amazing and awesome!!!
To support that brain development, Nordic Naturals has developed a unique Omega 3 to boost your child’s overall health, as well as supporting their ability to learn. Keri Marshall, Chief Medical Officer at Nordic Naturals states:
“Supporting learning in children has always been a passion for us at Nordic Naturals,” notes Keri Marshall, Chief Medical Officer for the company. “Omega-3s have proven themselves as important building blocks not only for overall health in children but in supporting a child’s ability to learn. We are proud to be associated with Save the Children and to support their meaningful work to improve childhood literacy in this country.”
From July 1st – September 30th, $1 will be donated to Save the Children for every bottle sold at RETAIL STORES of the following Nordic Natural’s products: Baby’s DHA, Children’s DHA, Omega-3.6.9. Junior, Ultimate Omega Junior, and Nordic Berries.

I encourage my little ones to read by reading- to myself, and to them. Then I wait till they’re developmentally ready to teach them to read. With the exception of my oldest, who learned to read in public school, I’ve taught my children only when they’re ready. My second child wasn’t ready till she was 7. My son, who has language and other developmental delays, was teaching himself to sight-read when he was four. I put a stop to that and taught him how to actually read.lol. My next earth baby is now 5 and she loves learning and being read to. I’ve had some health issues so she’s had to wait a bit longer than I thought she should but we’re now working on her reading lessons every day. So far so good. She’s on lesson #22 of Teach Your Child to Read in 100 Easy Lessons. I’ve learned while teaching the last two that breaks and flash cards may be necessary. So far she could probably use the flash cards but she has only needed one break. I can’t wait till she can read. She’s going to be very interesting to watch develop. 🙂
We read every night, we make sure to have each of them work on reading pages too and also let them pick out books from the library!
Our grandson is 4 and he just loves books & being read to. His favorite book is “How Do Dinosaurs Say I Love You”
we get the book and then cds to watch on the tc learn to read and then they can lok at the book
iliek the one for the kid to learn a language now a day they have to learn the
new language with all the kid form all over coming here
I don’t have to encourage my son to read because he loves books. My favorite book to read with him is Where the Wild Things Are.
My son loves to read (and I am so thankful for that)! I love reading, “I love you stinyface” at night with my son!

I haven’t heard of that book, but it sounds like something that would make us laugh!
It is such a fun (and funny) book! I started reading it to my son when he was 4 months old and read it every night for over a year – it’s all about a mom who finds creative ways to tell her son how much she loves him, so matter what…even if he is stinky like a skunk. 🙂

I just sit down with him and we read!
Mine doesn’t read on her own yet, but she likes to sit and look at books and pretend she’s reading. 🙂

I love reading my ds the Beatrix Potter books. My mimi read them to me when I was little and she bought my son the entire collection (:
I encourage them to read by giving them a love of reading. They watch me read and I read good literature to them.
