I made the leap to using coconut oil thanks to Tropical Traditions

Ever since my journeys into cloth diapering, I have been hearing about coconut oil.  Whenever somebody asks a question about what to do with something, it seems that coconut oil is the answer.  When I had the chance to receive some complimentary coconut oil from Tropical Traditions, I decided it was time to take the plunge.

So far, we have used it on Maggie’s scrapes, for cooking, as lotion, and plenty of other things.  I absolutely love the smell of it, when I use it as lotion, I kind of want to just keep sniffing my skin, hehe.  I have never spent too much time on my hair, so it’s nice that i can quickly dab just a teeny bit onto my hair to keep it from flying away.  At night, I can use some on my ends of my hair and throw it up into a quick bun and use it to deep condition my hair.  There are so many ways to use coconut oil that I will have to save those for another post.

Coconut Oil is so versatile, as well as being healthy.  With a long shelf life of 2 or 3 years, you don’t have to worry about throwing it away.  The high quality gives it the Gold Label Standard.   Coconut oil is solid at room temperature and liquid when heated.  I love the flavor the coconut oil adds when I cook with it.  It has in some instances, even enticed my little munchkins to eat more of their vegetables – a win in my book!
