I love a baby shower as much as the next person, but when it comes down to the gift, I want to give more than just a gift.  I want to create a memory.  I want that simple gift of diapers to be something that mom and dad will love.  For my baby shower, my sister made me this amazing motorcycle diaper cake and I loved it.  It wasn’t just a gift, it was more than that.  It was personalized and thoughtful and fun!  That’s what I want to do when I give a gift.  Any baby will go through a lot of diapers, and having the most absorbent diaper can save a few messes for those new parents.  We will be going to a baby shower in the next few weeks and rumor has it they really, really need diapers.  So, off to Walmart I go to get everything I need to make this personalized, fun, diaper baby bath gift basket.

Hitting up the baby section at Walmart isn’t something I have ever really done unless I’m shopping for gifts, and with my $20 budget, I set out to get everything for an awesome gift. To start with, we had to pick up some diapers.  We chose the Parent’s Choice diapers because of the cost and because I have heard that 3 out of 4 moms agree that they are the same or better than their current brand, so they can save money and live better.

When making diaper cake type gifts for baby showers, I generally chose size 1 or 2 since they seem to wear those diapers the longest and need those sizes the most.  That way, they actually can keep the gift basket set up in the nursery for awhile if they want, and then use the diapers when they fit.  Want to know how to make this baby bath diaper gift basket?

To start with, take the towel and wrap it around the basket.  Take the overhang from the baby bath towel, and tie the ribbons around them.  Then use the scissors to curl the ribbons.

Next, roll each diaper up individually and tape or rubber band each diaper.

You can choose what to do with any extra diapers you don’t use.  I laid them in the bottom of the basket {aka baby bath tub}.   Then place the rolled up diapers on top of those extra diapers.

Add in the rolled up wash cloths throughout the “bath suds” to add some color.

Place the baby doll inside the bath tub and arrange diapers around doll.

Place rubber ducks on top.

You can choose what you add to your gift basket.  I wanted to stick with the bath theme, but pacifiers and rattles fit perfectly as well.  This makes an adorable baby shower gift, centerpiece, or nursery decoration until baby is ready for those diapers.

As you go, you can adjust the bath towel so it looks nice and smooth.  I did some simple tucking at the end to get the look I wanted.  The entire gift is usable and so much fun!
