Love your dogs, but not their breath? Milk-Bone can help with that

I love my dogs so much.  They are a very big part of my family.  Let me introduce you to them.

Milk-Bone Brushing chews

Lady Jane is part Lab, part American Bulldog and may be the world’s greatest dog.  John has had her since she was a puppy.  She loves to play fetch, run around, and pull the kids on their sleds.  She hates the rain and gets cold quite easily.  She adores the kids, and has become quite fat because they are always trying to feed her.  When the kids and I hang out and play, Lady Jane  wants to be right there.  She loves to play with the kids and I, and wants to be right in our faces.  I probably wouldn’t mind quite so much, but man, she has horrible breath!

Buddy Boy, part Lab, part Rott, he’s old and kind of does his own thing.  Sometimes he wants attention, sometimes he doesn’t.  John found him when he was pretty young.  He was abandoned on the side of the road, starved, and covered in sand burrs.  John tried to find his original owners, to make sure he wasn’t just missing.  Turns out, we are pretty certain he had been abused.  He spent years where he didn’t want to be petted, would not come in the house, and is terrified of leashes, collars and water.  When we moved into our house 4 years ago, that changed.  He had gone from refusing to come indoors when it was negative temps, to walking right in the front door the day we moved in.  Since being here, his demeanor has gotten much better.  He goes for daily walks around the neighborhood, loves attention and knows his place in this family.  He is 16 years old now, and we cherish our time with him because we know it won’t be too much longer.  His fear of some things makes it impossible to brush his teeth.

If you have ever attempted to brush a dogs teeth, you will know what I’m talking about when I say that it is a pointless, exhausting activity.  Plus, when all is said and done, nothing has changed.  There has to be an easier way!  Turns out, there is.  It is Milk-Bone Brushing Chews.

Milk-Bone Brushing ChewsI am excited about just how easy the Milk-Bone Brushing Chews are.  Get this:  my dogs brush their own teeth.  And, they love it!   Milk-Bone brushing chews are bones designed with a 75 degree twist that allows the brushing nubs to reach down to the gum line and clean even those hard to reach back teeth.  Not only do they clean those teeth, but they also help to reduce tarter build-up and freshen their breath.  More to love – they are fortified with 12 essential vitamins and minerals.

I was curious to see what Buddy Boy would do with these brushing chews.  You see, every time he’s ever been given a bone for as long as I remember, he will carry it around the house, throughout our 4.5 acres, and then lay down with it.  Take a short break, think about it, and repeat.  At some point, he will stop and bury it.  I’ve never seen him eat a bone, so I assumed he would do the same thing with these.  He didn’t.  He actually dug right into it, so they must taste good {I’m not about to find out}.  They have a chicken flavor, so of course the dogs get pretty excited about that.

Milk Bone Brushing Chews Lady Jane Brushing ChewsWhen fed daily, Milk-Bone® Brushing ChewsTM are clinically proven to be as effective as brushing your dog’s teeth twice per week based on the reduction of tartar build-up and bad breath These chews have even earned the Veterinary Oral Health Council’s Seal of Acceptance.

As you can see, Lady Jane and Buddy Boy are quite happy with their “treats”.  I’m happy because they leave their mouth healthier and happier.  I’m happier as well because I don’t have to do the dreaded brushing of their teeth.

Besides the fact that the dogs love these, they are from Milk-Bone which is important to me.  There are only a few brands of food and treats that we buy for the dogs, and Milk-Bone is and always has been one of the trusted brands.  These dogs know what that big red box of treats mean, and now, they know what this box of brushing chews means.  It means the kids are about to give them  treat and they are going to be very happy about it.
