A few times a year, we have to travel north a little ways. We could go and come back in one day, but it wouldn’t be pleasant. Luckily, up in Alexandria, there are things for us to do, like check out Arrowwood Resort & Conference Center. I’ve heard amazing things about this place and was stoked to check it out. There is so much to do there, doesn’t matter the time of year. Plus, everybody is so nice. I was impressed from the moment I first checked in. Seeing my half asleep little guy in my arms, she asked if we need a pack and play sent to the room. Plus, just after getting settled in our room and before we got ready to head to the watermark, we got a courtesy call to be sure we had everything we needed. Seriously, I felt really important! And…..we had this view.
I’m pretty sure Maggie would have started screaming out of joy if she realized they had horse stables! It was pretty chilly when we were there so we didn’t check out the playground, but it sure looks like fun!
The biggest thing we were excited for was The Big Splash Waterpark. The kids hadn’t been to a waterpark yet and I couldn’t wait to see what they thought. As it turned out, Charlie man was sick, which explained why he wasn’t as excited as I was expecting him to be. I loved the part of the waterpark that was absolutely perfect for toddlers. The kids could run around and it was all designed for just their size. Maggie wasn’t so sure about the little waterslide at first, but she sure loved the bigger ones. Charlie was so funny, he went down the bigger waterslides with me {not the biggest ones though}. As soon as we reached the bottom, he’d grab my hand and pull me around to do it again.
The Arrowwood Resort and Conference Center was so much fun! I think John and I enjoyed the watermark as much as the kids did. It doesn’t matter how old your kids are, there is a part of the waterpark just perfect for them! If you are looking for a fun getaway for the whole family, Arrowwood Resort is a great place to check out.
What fun family getaways does your family enjoy?

Thanks! It was so fun.
Looks like a fun place my kids would love. We haven’t headed that direction up north in a while, we tend to head towards the Mille Lacs area, but maybe we should head to Alex.
