My pregnancy week 28

My pregnancy week 28

Happenings of the Harper Household

28 Weeks

About baby :  We have safely arrived in the third trimester.  This week, my amazing baby has reached 2 1/2 pounds and may be almost 16 inches long.  Baby’s newest skill….blinking.  Along with coughing, sucking, hiccupping, and taking practice breaths, baby can now blink those gorgeous little eyes.  Baby now has REM sleep so he or she can dream about mommy 🙂  Though babies lungs are nearly fully mature, baby still has a lot of growing to do.

About mommy and baby:

I have been having heartburn kind of a lot lately.  I have been very tired, although I’m not sure it has so much to do with the pregnancy as with not getting enough sleep at night.  The baby moves constantly and I love it!  Although once in awhile, it’s very uncomfortable, usually when Maggie is sitting on my lap pushing on baby and baby starts pushing back.  Maggie has a tough time getting comfortable because she is running out of lap already.  She likes to sit on my lap to read and lay back, but it isn’t very comfortable for either of us.  My pelvis feels like somebody took a sledgehammer to it….almost every day it feels like this.  Especially when I overdue it a bit.  Seriously can’t figure out how there is only one baby in here….it feels like this child has 100 limbs!

I have a doctor appointment on Monday after Easter.  Glucose test this time.  Oh joy.   So excited to hear baby’s heartbeat though.

Maggie and I read The Wheels On The Bus every day, and now every time we get to the part about the baby’s on the bus go wah wah wah….she lifts up my shirt, gives baby a kiss and wraps her arms around my tummy to see it.  Absolutely most adorable thing ever!!!!!  She came up with it on her own and I love it every time.  Hopefully she loves baby that much when he or she gets here 🙂
