Did you know that math and science can actually be really fun? Did you also know it doesn’t have to come from a textbook? One of my favorite things about homeschool is the opportunity to make them WANT to learn. NatureGlo’s eScience hits the mark – want to know why?

Yes, of course you do! But first, let’s talk about WHAT NatureGlo’s eScience is. We are reviewing NatureGlo’s eScience MathArt & Science Course Bundle which isn’t a purchasable bundle, but a way for us to review the different courses and share our experiences with you. This bundle includes courses from MathArt and Natural Sciences. We have access to this 25 bundle digital course for one year. What this is is a series of different classes taught by Gloria. This is a relaxed, fun science and math curriculum with a variety of activities from powerpoint videos of pre-recorded lessons for those who can’t attend the live lessons, art activities, worksheets and more.
This review came at a great time because we had been talking about Marine Biology as our science study for the beginning of this year. This bundle includes MathArt, Marine Biology, Herps (Reptiles & Amphibians), Botany, and Geology courses. There are plenty of ways you can use this course. You could direct the activities or let the kids have at it. This makes this fantastic for relaxed or unschool homeschool families. I’ve been letting the kids direct it. So – while I said that we were planning to do marine biology – we haven’t even started it yet. There are tons of fun classes on here and I get excited about some of the topics. Some classes are one lesson long. Some are six weeks long. The beauty of it is that you can go at your speed. Add in or eliminate things to fit the needs of your family. My eight-year-old is a big fan of Poison Dart Frogs so – of course that’s where we started. The quiz in this class was a lot of fun for the kids!
Taking a class is simple and requires very little from the parent. Your child logs in, chooses the class they want to begin. On the right sidebar – click the link for the beginning of the class. That will bring you to the page with any downloads necessary for the lesson as well as any lesson videos. Once they complete that class, they will see green tabs on the bottom. They can mark the lesson complete and move on to the next lesson or be finished for the day. You can download and print the powerpoint slide but my kids have found it more fun to watch the recorded video from the live lesson where she talks as she goes through the powerpoint slide. We do print out the study guide questions before the lesson so the kids can look over the questions and are then able to pause the video as they go to write in the answers or fill in the answers at the end of the lesson. I like that the end of the lessons include the chance for the student to dig into a certain species or part of the lesson and follow up with more books on the subject and the chance to research what they are interested in. There is also an answer key that is part of the study guide download.
My crew is 9, 8 and 5. This is fun because we can adapt what they do from the study guide or activities for each child. As students complete a course, they earn digital certificates of completion. Kids can work together on one account, or get multiple accounts so they can go at their own pace. My kids really love getting to choose what we do for science based on their interests. I really love the math classes. The polygons and patterns in nature is really fun – taking a nature walk in fall – THIS FALL – where the colors are as amazing as ever here in Minnesota made it extra fun. It almost makes me wish for snowfall to take The Geometric Beauty of Snowflakes course. The Bubbleology class seems super fun too. The pre-lesson activity is fun! But to be totally honest – one of the top two places on my bucket list has been the Redwoods and the kids WILL. NOT. START THAT CLASS!!! I may have to do it myself if they don’t take that course soon, I’m kind of geeking out with excitement about it.
I would love to see the live class where the kids could chime in with their favorite animal or ask questions, but they are learning a lot from the recorded classes and seeing the other kids on the videos keeps it more interesting for them. Another fun part to the classes is that you can comment on the lessons and other kids can comment back as well. We are having lots of silly fun…oh, and learning, they just don’t realize it because they love what they are learning about! You can hear more about this amazing bundle we are reviewing from other bloggers. Drop me a comment to let me know what you think about this, I’d love to hear from you.
