Our Top Games of 2024

We don’t do a ton of screen time in our house and that works pretty good for us. We would rather be outside but when we are inside, we are often playing games. These are our most played games of 2024. They aren’t in any order, just our most played.

Castle Panic – I love this game. It’s silly and you get to keep taking out monsters. Everybody loves this one and I love that it’s a different game every time.

Wingspan. I hesitated to get this game but then decided to and it’s my absolute favorite!!! We have all of the expansions and that makes it even better. It’s a different game every time we play.

Splendor. This could very well be my ten-year-olds favorite game but also one that we all enjoy playing. You have to collect gems to get to a certain amount.

Spy Alley. I bought this game like twenty years ago! We played it a ton then and then it was stuck in a box untouched for years! I bought it out and taught the kids and even my kid who doesn’t love to play games loves this one. It’s one they reach for to teach everybody who comes over.

Qwirkle. This is a favorite for a lot of people in our extended family and it’s a great one that kids and adults can all play together.

Azul. I learned to play this on Board Game Arena over New Year’s when we had influenza and no energy to get up and do anything! I bought it as quick as I could. I love the game and I love the different variations of the game – I recently learned Azul duel and it’s very different and so much fun as well.

Catan Junior We love this for the quick game play. Henry loves to collect cards and somehow that works and he wins quite a bit.

Cascadia This game is so cute and simple. We taught some friends to play Wingspan one night and they taught us to play this game. You have to take a tile and a token each turn and put them on your board. Different combinations mean different points at the end of the game. There’s different pattern cards for every animal so the game changes quite a bit.

Tiki Topple I found this on clearance one day and it really is a fun game. Everybody has a different totem goal so you are working against each other or maybe even with each other but you have no idea until the end of the hand. It’s played in rounds and goes pretty quickly.

Parks This is a fun hiking themed game with many different goals so you aren’t always going for the same task and each round is different.

Penny Drop Our family taught us this game one summer day and it was a hit instantly. It can be played with any number of people. Your goal – to get rid of your pennies before anybody else.

Slapzi This is Charlie’s favorite game and he seldom likes to play games. Your goal – be the first to not only play a card matching the goal card but make it the best one played that round.
