Sponsor Spotlight: Organic Caboose *Review*

I am very excited to introduce you to Organic Caboose, one of my wonderful sponsors for the Mother’s Day Cloth Diaper Giveaway Event.

Lindsey from Organic Caboose was kind enough to send me an Organic Cotton One Size Fitted Diaper with Snap In Insert to review.  I was very excited to get this diaper.  I do not have much experience with fitted diapers, but we live in Minnesota so it would be nice to have some more breathable diapers for Maggie to wear around, especially on really hot days.
About Organic Caboose
Organic Caboose was started in 2004 by a mama who realized she didn’t want to have to leave her son everyday to go to work.  She envisioned an Organic Diapering Line that would promote “the health of our future.”  There was one problem……she didn’t know how to sew.  After enlisting her mother’s expertise, they were quickly sewing side by side.
As her business grew, she cut and delivered the fabric to local women who were interested in sewing.  After the diapers were sewn, she inspected them and shipped them out.  Organic Caboose has continued to grow and evolve bringing the highest quality organic and eco friendly products to mamas and babies.
About the Organic Cotton One Size Fitted Diaper
The Organic Cotton One Size Fitted Diaper is made from super soft 100 % American grown Organic Cotton.  It is designed to fit from 7-35 pounds making this a great one size diaper.  It features a snap closure, 4 different rise settings, and a snap down umbilical cord snap.  It is also Made in the USA.

My Opinion
I loved the diaper!  We were able to get a good fit each time.  The diaper held up for us through the entire night, and the nice thing about the organic cotton is that the diaper doesn’t stink as much.  We have trouble at night because the diapers seem to smell so bad by morning, but we didn’t have that problem with this diaper. The waist and legs fit very snugly around her skin without leaving ugly red marks that we see from some of the diapers.

Maggie is 20 pounds right now, and we used the second smallest snap setting on the diaper, so she has plenty of room to grow!  We also tried it snapped on the next larger setting, but that left a bit of a gap in her legs because it was too big.

I love that the soaker is snapped in.   I have mostly pockets, but I’m starting to love non pocket like diapers that I don’t have to unstuff when they are dirty.  The soaker is also long enough to double over for extra absorbency.  The soaker also stays snapped in during washing so there is no searching for the right insert / soaker when you put away the diapers.  The diaper also dries very quickly.
The umbilical cord snap down is somewhat unique to this diaper.  I know I have seen them on newborn diapers, but not on one size diapers which is nice for babies that are using this diaper from birth.

Daddy LOVES that this diaper is organic.  This has quickly become one of his favorite diapers because of that and the ease of the snaps.
What I would change
I do wish this diaper came in adorable prints but you can’t really have that and organic cotton all together.
For younger babies, it would be nice if there were a single layer soaker.  The doubled over soaker makes me wonder about the bulkiness of this diaper on a baby that is at the small end of the weight range.
Overall
This is a great diaper.  I found nothing functionally wrong with this diaper.    I have never had any leaks from this diaper.  Our daughter seemed comfortable in the diaper.  I like that she can wear the diaper without a cover during the day for breathability, but still wear a cover to make it waterproof.  I would recommend this diaper to a friend.
