I really LOVE making gifts for people, especially gifts that cater to something they love. We love to periodically give the helpers in our life something special so they know we appreciate them. Both Maggie and Charlie are in gymnastics and their teachers {coaches} are amazing!
I wasn’t sure what to expect going into it a few months back with a 3 and 5 year old. I had no clue how the kids would like gymnastics, how they would do; but they love it! They both get so excited to go and wow have I noticed changes in both of them. Maggie has become incredibly strong, especially her arms. Charlie figured out how to do the bridge all by himself and is so very proud of it {as he should be, it’s a big deal}. Gymnastics has also matured him a lot and does a good job of following directions on his own.
Easy Gymnastics Coach Thank You Gift
We made their coaches some fudge for Valentine’s Day, but one of them just had her tonsils out and another has to have knee surgery. I thought it was time for another pick me up thank you gift.
Awhile back, we happened to be shopping at Target { because, doesn’t EVERYBODY?} and I hit up the dollar spot as usual. They had these mega adorable bin things and I stocked up on them because I know I’ll be able to make dozens of projects with them. I’ve had them sitting in my craft area begging me for a project for awhile now, so I finally put one to good use. I had a very basic idea of what I wanted to do. I wanted something cute, fun and simple to show our appreciation for their coaches. So, I started my gymnastics coach thank you gift with the bin. I had some sparkly decorative tape {if we are being honest here, I have an entire bin full of the stuff} and I put a row of tape around the bottom of the bin.
Then I used my cutting machine to make some gymnastics silhouettes to add to the bin. I used vinyl, but you could also cut them out on paper or card stock and mod podge them onto the bin. I weeded out around the silhouette.
Using a piece of transfer paper, press firmly on top of the gymnastics silhouette.
Now press that onto the bin where you want it. Press firmly, especially around the edges. Now, gently remove the transfer paper, leaving only the gymnastics silhouette.
Repeat with all silhouette designs.
I promise, that was the hardest part and it was really easy, right?!
I wanted to make it resemble a gymnastics pit at the gym because the kids always have so much fun jumping into the pit. I decided to use some 1 inch foam and cut it into cubes until I had enough to fill the bin. How much you need will depend on how big your container is.
Wrapping Up the Gymnastics Thank You Bin with Extra
The last thing I did was design some fun, printable thank you notes – gymnast style – to wrap around the Extra® Gum Spearmint and Extra® Gum Polar Ice®.
You can grab these FREE printables at the bottom of this post – I have provided both black and white as well as colored versions of the tags. These are designed to fit the new, larger Extra® 35-stick packs. Since the packs are big enough to share, I even taped an extra piece of gum onto the labels.
These packs have more gum in a convenient, durable, recycled package. No more empty packs of gum as soon as you open it. These 35 stick packs give you more to share so you can Give Extra, Get Extra. Not only that but you have the chance to save big with the Cartwheel app. About a year and a half ago, we thanked some firefighters for the awesome tour they gave us when we happened to stop by them at a local school. That was the first time we included Extra® gum in our thank you gift and we had so much fun with it. These new packs were the perfect way for us to Give Extra, Get Extra and I can’t wait for the kids to give them their gift on Sunday.

This is such a cute gift. My mom would always make our teacher’s handmade gifts with our help and we always loved to see their faces when they got their gift. I can’t wait to do the same for my daughter too.
Great idea and project! Where did you get the SVG file for your cutting vinyl? Im looking for anything but free of course is best SVG files with Gymnastics theme. Thank you
Hi Ronda! I got them from the Silhouette store I believe. If you type gymnast in the search bar, a bunch show up.
