2015 is Going to be Amazing

I am really excited about 2015. There is just something exciting about a new year. It’s a great time to make changes, and we will be making some around here.

While my blog started out as a just something to do type of thing, it has been a real blessing to our family. I’ve been lucky enough that the hard work I put into Our Piece of Earth has been paying off, literally. I’ve managed to figure out how to actually make money with my writing, which is especially helpful during the winter months when John is laid off. I couldn’t have done this without all of you. Every time you click an affiliate link, comment on a post, or share your favorite posts, you are helping me to provide for my family and I thank you from the bottom of my heart. I mean it. You all rock! But don’t worry, just because I get to make money doing the things I love doesn’t mean you aren’t getting my honest thoughts and opinions on every single post.

This year, I hope to bring more of “me” to the blog. I want to make this a more personal space, so look for that over the next year.

I am also excited to share with you that I am part of Mom Powered Media which means I will be able to bring some amazing new opportunities to the blog, both for all of you and for myself. For you, this will mean even more giveaways. For me, this is another way for me to grow and better my blog by learning from and working with some fantastic bloggers.

Lastly, I am super excited to introduce you to somebody. My sister, Patty, will be joining us as a contributor. We have always been a crafty bunch, and I haven’t had the time to share much of that with you. Well, now, you will get more craftiness because Patty is amazing! While she is a full time working mom, she is also a mother to two awesome sauce little people. Jason is 13 and Madison is 8. I can’t wait to start showing you some of her handiwork. Let’s just say, her Secret Santa gifts were amazing, fun and completely creative.
