Tubby Time Clean & Soft Set #Giveaway

Relevance: 2%      Posted on: August 5, 2014

Tubby Time Giveaway

Are you expecting in 2014? Did you just have your little bundle of joy? Know someone who's pregnant or trying to conceive? Then this event is for you! Alex of Mommy's Obsessions is expecting her second son this October and has created an event that is perfect for expectant mothers! Mommy's Little Miracle is a Pregnancy, Newborn/Early Infancy, and Postpartum event that will be featuring everything from maternity clothing to newborn essentials, to postpartum products you must have! We highly recommend that you bookmark the open giveaway page by clicking on the image below then adding it to your bookmarks bar! Over the next three weeks you will have the chance to enter to win some amazing prizes from items for YOU and things for your little one!   Click on the link to be redirected to a list of open giveaways. Today Mommy's Little Miracle is featuring what in our opinion one of the greatest baby bath product brands on the market, My True Nature! About My True Nature (As from their website) "At My True Nature™, we believe that childhood is sacred. We spend every second thinking about how to make everyday activities for kids safe and fun. Our first task was to figure out how to make kids laugh in the bath. The idea for My True Nature™ came after my first baby was born. Like many mothers, I wanted to create a safe home environment. But when I couldn’t find a line of soaps and shampoos that had 100% natural ingredients, performed as well as typical mainstream products, and were completely free of genetically modified organisms, parabens, petrochemicals, phthalates, sulfates, synthetic dyes, synthetic fragrances, triclosan or preservatives, I decided to start producing them myself. Before I knew it, I had a line of products that my friends and family loved. I started selling them by word of mouth, and the business has grown from there."   Photo Credits: My True Nature I was first introduced to My True Nature during the 2013 Ultimate Online Baby Shower and I will admit, I was skeptical. My son has very sensitive skin and we recently found out that he does have eczema, so I was worried about trying new bath products with him. When we finally ran out of the bath products we had, rather than run to the store like I normally do, I decided to open up the samples of My True Nature that we had and gave them a go. I was especially nervous when I realized that one of the scents was lavender since as a child I had a lavender sensitivity, but there I was with Little Mister in the tub needing to be soaped up, so I held my breath and lathered him in My True Nature. Boy am I glad that I did! Since initially trying My True Nature products, we have exclusively used them! Not only do they each have fresh and light scents, My True Nature products are made from a large percentage of organic products and include ingredients that I can actually read and pronounce! The best part (for us) is that they are designed with sensitive skin and eczema in mind, and since using My True Nature Products, Little Misters eczema has actually cleared up! I have fallen in love with My True Nature bath products and I know that you will too! To see a full review of the My True Nature Tubby Time Bath Set, use this link!  To Purchase: Visit My True Nature and order your baby's bath products today! You'll be glad you made the switch! #gbgreenfam Mother Earth Baby – Flip Disposable Liners *Review*

I love family owned companies!  It feels wonderful to help support them and to share their story with others.  That is why I was happy when I had the opportunity to partner with Mother Earth Baby.   Mother Earth Baby is a division of Mother Earth Health Foods - a family owned and operated business for over 40 years.  You can check out their storefront in North Syracuse, NY or Oswego, NY.  They offer classes and workshops as well as a baby registry and a cloth diaper service.  They offer personal consultations by appointment and will discuss and demonstrate the many options available today.  They have been using cloth diapers with their famly for the last 12 years and still have one in diapers.  They take great pride in the fact that most of the products they sell have also been used on their own children so they can share their personal experiences with you.  I have been talking with Lisa back and forth for awhile and she has been a pleasure to work with.  I hope you take the time to check out Mother Earth Baby and all of their great products. If you have any questions, be sure to call or email - they will be glad to help!  And, they don't just carry cloth diapers, they have products for mom, for baby and for the home!Lisa was kind enough to send me two items for review - FLIP One Size Disposable Inserts and Blueberry Trainers.  Today I want to share with you our experience with the FLIP One Size Disposable Inserts.I will admit, when Lisa first asked if I wanted to review these, I was a bit leary.  I took a trip last year and used some other disposable inserts and was very disappointed.  I had tons of leaks and they didn't stay in place.  But...I really wanted to have some disposable inserts to use for camping or whenever else we may need them, so I decided to give them a shot.The FLIP disposable inserts are dye free, fragrance free and have achieved Oeko - Tex certification.  They are perfect for travel, daycare, and other moments where nothing else will do.  Because I was leary of trying these, I decided to try them out at home first.I was surprised by how much I liked using them.  I was able to put them in my FLIP covers as well as my other covers and never once had a leak. They even contained the really nasty messes these little monkeys can make.  I even put one on my daughter during naptime and it held up.  I did find that since the inserts are trimmer than cloth inserts, it worked best to snap up the rise setting a little more.  They come in a pack of 18 and are made of non - woven bamboo viscose, wood pulp SAP and starch based glue.The FLIP disposable inserts are very easy to use.  Simply lay in the cover, fold the edges out, and snap or velcro onto baby.I found that sometimes if my little one was really wiggly, it was sometimes easier to pull the insert over baby, then snap the cover closed around it.I was happy that unlike other disposable inserts I have used, these stayed in place when putting them on, and while they were wearing them. I was concerned that because they are one size that they wouldn't work well on the little guy because they would be super bulky.  I was glad to see that wasn't the case.  I just laid the insert in, snapped down the rise to where I wanted it and put it on him.  Because of the flap on the cover, you can fold the insert down and tuck it in there and it fit him just as well as it fit Maggie.As you can see, they are very trim, yet very absorbent inserts.  If you are looking for a disposable insert, I highly recommend these.  While I have only tried one other brand, the FLIP inserts are the ones that I would willingly buy and use again.  Plus, at only $4.95 a pack, they are very affordable.Shop - Facebook - TwitterAnd...Mother Earth Baby has graciously offered up a $20 gift card to one lucky winner during the Green Family Giveaway Event next week so be sure to sign up for email updates so you don't miss out!*Disclosure - I received the product free of charge for the purpose of this review.  The opinions are 100 % my own*

What is charcoal bamboo + {Rock-a-Bums cloth diaper review}

Relevance: 2%      Posted on: February 9, 2014

*Disclosure:  I received the product mentioned for the purpose of this review.  No other compensation was received.  All opinions are 100% my own.* Ever since first hearing about charcoal bamboo fabric in cloth diapers, I wanted to know more, because, let's face it, charcoal bamboo does not sound like something you would put on your babies butt, am I right?  So, of course, I wanted to know more. Charcoal bamboo is created during a heating process, in which it is burned at over 1000 degrees Celcius, and then cutting off the oxygen supply.  Water and volatile organic compounds are then removed, leaving mainly carbon and removing animal or plant matter. The result is a nanopartical bamboo charcoal powder.  From there, it is spun into an organic bamboo fabric that can be used for many different things.  Each nanometer = 1 billionth of a meter, meaning it has amazing absorption abilities! Charcoal bamboo acts similar to carbon in a filtration system.  Activated particles can bind to organic waste to help remove it.  What does that mean?  Your cloth diapers will be cleaner and help protect against rashes. Bamboo Charcoal has some incredible properties worth noting, including being hypoallergenic, anti-bacterial, and naturally deodorizing.  It offers all of this in addition to be ultra absorbent and being organic. I hope this answers your questions about bamboo charcoal.  You can probably guess by now, that the diaper I'm about to tell you about is made, at least in part, with bamboo charcoal.  Plus, the darker color helps keep the diaper stains from being noticeable. Rock-a-Bums are a 5 in 1 diaper, meeting the needs of just about any diapering family.  It can be used as an all in one, all in two, pocket, hybrid, or a cover.  I have also used it as a swim diaper as well.  Before we go into how to use it as each diaper style, let's talk about the diaper a bit. The front of the diaper has a double row of snaps across the front, one row with 10 snaps, and one row with 8 snaps, allowing the diaper to be adjusted to your child's waist.  Each wing has 3 snaps, including a hip snap to prevent wing droop, with a double crossover snap to fit very small waisted babies. There are 3 rise settings on the Rock-a-Bums 1.0 diaper.  Small, medium and large.  To get the setting you need, just adjust the snaps down to the setting you need.  This allows the diaper to fit babies from approximately 7-35 pounds. There is elastic around the legs and the back of the diaper, allowing for a comfortable, flexible fit that stays snug on baby and keeps the messes inside where they belong. There is an opening at the back of the diaper where an insert can be snapped in.  More about this in just a minute as we discuss how to use the diaper. The diaper shell is made from waterproof PUL.  The inside lining of the diaper is made from polyester, and the inserts are made from microfiber topped with bamboo charcoal, so the inserts have a stay dry feel when used as an AIO or AI2.  Both inserts have a snap at one end for attaching to the diaper. Rock-a-Bums 1.0 comes with a diaper shell and 2 inserts. AIO To use this diaper as an AIO, you can only use one insert.  Snap the insert to the back of the diaper.  Place it on baby.  Easy peasy.  When soiled, toss in the wet bag just like that.  No need to unsnap.  Insert will stay attached during the wash, and because of how it is attached, it will dry quickly. AI2 To use this diaper as an AI2, simply lay the insert into the cover without snapping it to the diaper.  Place it on baby.  When soiled, toss it in the wet bag just like that.  After washing, when it's time to use it again, find the inserts and lay them in it again. Pocket To use this diaper as a pocket diaper, place the insert inside the pocket opening.  Make sure entire insert is inside of the large pocket opening.  When it is time to wash, pull out the insert and toss both pieces into the wet bag.  After washing, replace insert into pocket and place on baby. Diaper Cover To use as a diaper cover, place bombshell cover over a disposable diaper.  Can also be used over prefolds, flats, or possibly over a fitted diaper as well.  When baby has wet, simply change out whatever you had been using as an insert.  If the shell is wet or soiled, wash it as well.  If it is still dry, you can use it again. Hybrid Rock-a-Bums will be carrying disposable inserts that can be used, either as an all in two, or as a pocket inside of the bombshell cover.  After each use, wash the shell. I have also used this as a swim diaper at the lake, not in chlorine water. {Those red marks are from a different diaper cover that he had on prior to taking these pictures} We have only used this diaper during the day, as an AIO, AI2, and as a pocket diaper.  We haven't had any leaks, using either one or both inserts.  The first time John used this diaper, he commented on how much he liked it because it was easy to use.  I do wish this diaper were available in more colors, but I love the snap combinations.  There will be prints available in the future as well. Buy one:  You can purchase the Rock-a-Bums 1.0 on sale right now, or pick up the new Rock-a-Bums 2.0. Win one:  One lucky reader will win a new Rock-a-Bums 2.0 in their color choice, 2 inserts of their choice, and a wet bag.  {February 10-24}.  Enter here. Be social with Rock-a-Bums on Facebook - Twitter *Disclosure:  I received the above mentioned product for the purpose of this review.  No other compensation was provided.  All thoughts and opinions are 100% my own and only influenced by my experience with the product and company.*

Create a DIY Flower Shop Dramatic Play Center

Relevance: 2%      Posted on: May 5, 2015

Kids Flower Shop

This shop has been compensated by Collective Bias, Inc. and its advertiser. All opinions are mine alone. #WhereFunBegins #CollectiveBias Around Valentine's Day, I got John to make us this stand.  I really wanted it for a Free Kisses Photo Booth for Henry's 4 month pictures.  It's kind of big and heavy to move, but I thought it would be fun to do something different with it every month.  Since it's springtime and Mother's Day is coming up, I thought it would be fun to create a dramatic play flower shop for the kids.  Since we have been busy setting up for the garage sale and luckily it has been really nice out, so we took it outside for the kids to play in.  They are loving that because even though they have plenty of flowers to play with, they had to add in fresh picked dandelions. We had a lot of the things for our flower shop already in the house.  Here are the things we included: Flowers Watering Can Cash Register Shopping Basket Seeds Dirt Shovels Price Tags Phone Order Slips Clipboard to hold order slips Price Chart Planting Station Mother's Day Special Sign Styrofoam to Hold Flowers Vases I have a ton of vases, but I can't really give them a bunch of glass vases to play with.  The kids spotted the end cap display of SunnyD on Rollback for $5.38.  It just so happens to be one of my favorites, so we picked up a 24 count pack.  Since we also love to reuse products,  I figured the empty containers would be perfect flower vases.  We got to work on drinking some SunnyD while we were setting up the garage sale and playing in the sun.  Later that day, we got to work turning our empty bottles into colorful vases for the flower shop.  Head over to Sam's Club and pick up some SunnyD and find out WhereFunBegins.net. Step 1:  Put some happy in your day and drink some SunnyD. Step 2:  Remove caps and labels. Step 3:  Choose your colors.  We like using some of my scrapbook paper to make extra fun vases. Step 4:  Measure paper to fit bottle. Step 5:  Cut paper.  2 inches by 7 inches Step 6:  Glue paper to empty SunnyD bottle. Step 7:  Decorate {Optional} with buttons, flowers, ribbons, or anything else.Step 8:  Fill with flowers.  Optional:  You can add a small circle of styrofoam to bottom of bottle to hold flowers more upright if desired. Each bottle to vase transformation only takes a few minutes.  Not only do they make a great addition to our flower shop, but they also make adorable centerpieces for a brunch. The flower shop is a great time to teach the kids about how plants grow and what they need to grow.  While we used mostly fake flowers, we planted some real flowers as a chance to learn and watch them grow. The order forms are great practice for them to count items.  We made up some cards to send with the flower bouquets.  After laminating them so they can be reused, Maggie loves writing names on them.  We made up some price tags so that the shoppers know how much the flowers cost.  They are also perfect for the kids to match the flowers to the right price and learn to identify different flowers. Because certain holidays are really big days for flower deliveries, we even made up some specials for Mother's Day and Valentine's Day. You guys - I have never received so many flower bouquets before!  I have been getting flowers almost ever hour.  How lucky could I possibly be to have so many beautiful flowers delivered to my door again and again?!  To access these FREE printables, sign up for my newsletter below.  {If you do not receive the downloads quickly, please email me so I can resend}. Did we forget anything in our flower shop?  What should we make with our little stand next?  I know at some point it will be a fruit and vegetable stand, but what else should we do with it this summer? Baby Trend Grand Prize #Giveaway

Baby Trend

Today is the final day of Mommy's Little Miracle and we've saved the best for last! Every parent deserves the chance to win a prize package that is so spectacular, we had to save it until the very last day! With that, we welcome you to the Baby Trend Grand Prize Giveaway! We have the Baby Trend double sit or stand stroller and really love it!  While it has spent quite a bit of time sitting up in the attic, when we first brought Charlie home, it was so great to have. About our very generous sponsor, Baby Trend (As from their website)  "Baby Trend has distinguished itself among the worldwide leading manufacturers of juvenile products. Throughout the 26-year history of our company, we have been on the forefront of new and innovative solutions that meet the ever increasing demands of new parents. We strive to accomplish this feat by adhering to our goal of providing the safest, most reliable products available at an affordable price. We continually tailor our products as the challenges facing families' change and grow. Baby Trend is the inventor and exclusive manufacturer for several unique juvenile products. Baby Trend was the first to produce the Snap-N-Go™ and Sit N' Stand™ strollers, both of which have won numerous awards." Photo Credits: Baby Trend When I asked readers several months ago what their top three most important baby gear items were, most answers read the same; car seat, stroller, and play yard. There was of course some other great baby gear items such as swings and baby carriers thrown into the mix, but for the most part the answer were unanimous and to be honest, I couldn't agree more! Having a quality car seat is imperative, and lets face it - having a quality stroller also helps make life with a child a little bit easier! Baby Trend has been one of the leaders in baby gear for years, and I have had the opportunity to work with them on several occasions and they have always exceeded my expectations and have been a wonderful brand to work with. They were generous enough to send me a Playyard in "Supernova" for the upcoming arrival of Little Boy and I was over the moon! I didn't have a playyard with Little Mister because when he was born we lived in a small one bedroom apartment and I didn't have the space for one. His changing table was in our bedroom along with his basinet so I never had the need for a playyard, but with Little Boy I knew that I would need one, not only for the fact that we will be using it while we are out and about and traveling, but so that I could have it in our bedroom to change diapers in the middle of the night! When the World is Your Classroom, Cleaning Up Can Wait

How to make the world your classroom

 This shop has been compensated by Collective Bias, Inc. and its advertiser. All opinions are mine alone. #PurellWipes #CollectiveBias We have definitely been enjoying our early spring here in Minnesota.  I'm pretty sure it was May before it was this nice out last year.  I had promised the kids a trip to the park with our best buddies last week.  When the snow melts, that means mud, so I made sure we had our family summer car kit packed and ready to go, because we know, when the world is your classroom, cleaning up can wait.  Dirty hands and faces are just part of the fun.  No way will I be working inside.  I'm doing spring cleaning my way.   I have a confession to share with you.  I am kind of a germaphobe.  I never use to be, but then I had my 2nd baby and things changed.  Now having 3, and one born during the sick season, I make sure I am prepared.  When we showed up at the park, the germaphobe in me just cringed.  As we were getting out of our truck, there was this little boy playing, coughing that gross, wet, full of germs cough, and wiping his really runny nose.  All I could think was, "Thank goodness for our PURELL® Hand Sanitizing Wipes." Not long ago when I was walking through Walmart, I took a shortcut through the household cleaning aisle, something caught my eye.  The PURELL® Hand Sanitizing Wipes available in both a 35 count fragrance free canister and a 70 count clean refreshing scent canister.  These were perfect for both our house and for our summer car kit.   Maggie and Charlie absolutely adore their baby brother, but aren't always great at remembering my rule that they must wash their hands with soap and water before they can touch him or hold him.  {I told you, I'm a germaphobe now}.  Now I can keep the 70 count PURELL® Hand Sanitizing Wipes out next to the pack-n- play and they do a much better job.  They may not always run to the bathroom to wash, but that is alright because these wipes sanitize hands, killing illness causing bacteria.  Can I get a woo-hoo!  {I'm listening}.   Since we like to hit up the zoo, parks, the beach, or any other number of places while the weather is nice, we always keep a car kit packed.  The 35 count PURELL® Hand Sanitizing Wipes fit perfect into our kit, along with our band-aids, sunscreen, and no more ouch spray.  So, when we got to the park, out came our car kit and I am so glad we added these wipes to it.   Like I said, when the snow melts, that means mud.  See these dirty little fingers?  Not to mention all of the millions of germs they are grabbing onto on the playground as they climb, slide, jump and fall, or the dogs they were playing with.  They were having a blast, even though we may have planned for the coldest of the days in the last few weeks.  But now that we had all of those grubby hands, I also had 4 kids who were starving!  It was definitely time to break out our PURELL® Hand Sanitizing Wipes and get them cleaned up and germ free before they dig in.  The best part is, these are so handy that the kids can wash their own hands AND their faces.   These aren't just for kids though.  When you go to a park with no bathrooms {seriously, who builds a park with no bathrooms?}, mom cleans up the mess and has a quick and easy way to wash her hands.   Now I know you are wondering how you have lived without these for so long, so get your money saving coupon and keep some in your house, your car, your office, anywhere.  Plus, just knowing how many of these we will undoubtedly go through, I love that the Purell loyalty program can earn us coupons, gift cards and products.  Check out this video of the fun we had at the park. Let the world be your classroom. #ad #PurellWipes #flipagram Made with @flipagram See full video at flipagram.com/summers1405 A video posted by Our Piece of Earth (@summers1405) on Mar 31, 2015 at 9:29pm PDT With full bellies and tired bodies, we ended our fun at the park.  It was time to head home and into bed.  I think their favorite moment MAY have been when John went to sit on the swing and completely missed, see little miss Hallie laughing at him?   Do you have a car kit for outdoor fun on the go?  What do you include?  Are you ready to take the PURELL® 30 Day Challenge?
