I hate lunchtime!  I’m perfectly content with a peanut butter and mini chocolate chip sandwich just about every day, but a} it’s not really that great for me, and b} the kids don’t need to eat the same thing every day.  When we discovered bento lunches, I knew I had to hop on board.  It would challenge me to make lunchtime a little more fun for all of us.   It may or may not have had something to do with our friend, Pinterest.  Don’t do it….okay, do it, but only if you have hours to kill!  There are so many fabulous ideas on there.

I will admit, even with about a gazillion pins on my fun, healthy lunch board, I don’t actually make them lunches like that too often, but I do use our cookie cutters and other things to make the lunch a little more fun.  The best part is, I get to make it fun for me too.  Not into Pinterest?  Check out the menu options on the Laptop Lunches website.

We received this Laptop Lunches lunchbox from Bento-Ware.  Let the lunch fun begin!

The Bento lunchbox is available in 11 fun colors, and the Bistro is available in two.  I love Jubilee – I am a huge fan of bright colors, and my kids love it too.  But, if you are looking for a more subtle lunchbox, they have that too.

The Bento lunchbox has 5 containers, 3 with lids, that all fit inside the lunchbox.  2 of the lids have pictures of fruits and veggies on them.  The small dip container just nests inside of one of the other containers.  There is a slot on the side of the lunchbox for silverware.

Laptop LunchesBy using all of the containers, all of the food is secure and won’t be sliding or spilling.  If you have a full size sandwich, you can remove the two bigger containers to make room for it.

The latch on the lunchbox is kid friendly and easy for them to open at lunch time.  The entire lunchbox contains NO lead, BPA (bisphenol A), phthalates, or PVC and is made in the USA.  It is also easy to clean, and dishwasher safe.  You can even heat food up in the microwave {just remove the covers}.  The lunchbox and containers are durable, sturdy and prevent the squishing of the food.  The kids {and I} love our laptop lunches lunchbox and use it on a very regular basis.  Even if we aren’t using it for lunch, the covered containers are perfect for snacks to take with us.

The best part is, the lunchbox works no matter what your age or appetite.  For my kids, the containers are only filled part of the way.  If packing it for myself, I can fill the containers up a little more.  Or….I can fill it all the way up and this one lunchbox fits enough food for all of us!
