I’m not quite sure how it happened, but about a year and a half ago, my gorgeous little Maggie became a self proclaimed princess.  It was about that time anyways, when she stopped wearing anything but dresses.  Fancy dresses, party dresses, play dresses, it didn’t matter, but each day she excitedly picked out what dress she wanted to wear.  {In case you are wondering, I absolutely love this stage and don’t want it to end.}  Then, we had the opportunity to go to Disney on Ice:  Princesses and Pirates where she was introduced to Sofia and Jake.  Well, it was love!  Now, Sofia feels like part of the family. This stage is so much fun and reminds me of being a little girl.  I love the fancy princess dresses, the dancing and singing, it is all so much fun.

A few months ago at a birthday party, one of Maggie’s cousins did something she wasn’t too happy about.  She turned to look at him, crossed her arms, and informed him, “You messed with the wrong princess.”

You messed with the wrong princess.

I’m assuming this happens in other homes too, but around here, dress up clothes are fair game when it comes to what she wears on any given day.  We have a few, Aurora, Rapunzel, Cinderella, Belle, and now, we have this awesome Princess Sofia the First girls costume that we received from WholesaleHalloweenCostumes.com.

As I grabbed the package from outside the door to shrieks of delight from the kids wondering what was in the box, Maggie was even more excited to see that it was a Sofia dress and a tiara.  She quickly put it on and the first thing she said was, “Where’s my amulet so I can talk to animals?”  She just cracks me up, but she really knows her princess stuff!  She likes that the dress is sparkly and has pretty jewels on it.  Sofia the 1st girls costumeI like not having to worry about her brother ruining this tiara.  It isn’t as breakable as many of the ones she has already.  I know Maggie will be having a lot of fun with this dress.  We are planning a big princess birthday party for her this year, and there is a good chance that this Princess Sofia dress will be the star of the show.Sofia the 1st girls costume

Fess up now, how many of you have little ones in the princess stage?  How often do you think about dressing up with them because being a princess is so much fun?!
