We all have that one little thing we look forward to in our day, and for me, that little thing is a good night snack.  One of my favorite things to have for a snack at night is cereal, and Kellogg’s has many of my favorites.  Being pregnant, I know that if I do not eat something shortly before bed, I will be up at 3 in the morning because I am starving!

We decided to have a little backyard campout with some friends the other day.  The kids were so excited, and us moms had quite a bit of fun as well.  There are 3 things we absolutely had to have for our little campout.  Games, snacks, and friends!  While I tried to be pretty creative with some of our favorite camping games, the wind had other ideas, so we stuck to bean bags and rodeo golf.  The kids thought this was the coolest, I got to feel like a rockstar.  We also knew just who to call to come camp out with us!  Maggie’s best friend, her sister and her mommy.  Not only that, but I could pick up everything we needed for our backyard camp out during our weekly grocery trip to Walmart {and we always hit up the cereal aisle anyways}.

When it came to snacking, it took me awhile to decide on the perfect snack.  I knew I wanted to use Kellogg’s cereal because it’s my #1 snack at night.  Deciding which one or two was the toughest part.  I finally decided on a few treats for us.  I finally decided on Froot Loops marshmallow bars and a variety of banana pops.  I’m excited to share the recipes with you guys!

Ingredients:

Kellogg’s Froot Loops cereal

Butter

Marshmallows

Chocolate Chips

Melt 3-4 tablespoons of butter in a large sauce pan.
Add 8 ounces of marshmallows and continue to stir on low heat until melted. We used red, white and blue star shaped marshmallows just for the fun of it.
Add in 4 cups of Kellogg’s Froot Loops cereal. Stir until well mixed.
Grease bottom of 9 x 13 inch baking pan.
Add mixture and press until firm.
We then mashed up some Froot Loops and sprinkled it over the top of the crispy bars.
Then, we melted a little bit of chocolate and drizzled it over the bars.

The variety of Kellogg’s banana pops we created were amazingly delicious!  And very, very rich.  These were a big hit with all of the kids, especially Zoe who kept coming back for more.

These were extremely rich and I was only able to eat a half of one.  The kids didn’t have that problem.  I would probably try it with yogurt next time to make it not quite so sweet for me.  These were such a hit and will definitely be making an appearance in our house again!  I can’t decide what my favorite was, but I think it may have been the Kellogg’s Special K Vanilla and Almond banana pop.  Yummy, so good.  The nuts are the perfect addition to these.

The kids were absolutely begging for a campfire, so we had one, but man, it gave me a complex!  I was sure somebody was getting stabbed or burned with a marshmallow cooker!  But, thank goodness, no injuries were had.  Woo-hoo!
