*Bis Kot- Maternity and Nursingwear Review*

*Bis Kot- Maternity and Nursingwear Review*

I love being pregnant!  And I love breastfeeding.  What I don’t love is having 2 separate wardrobes.  With my daughter, I felt like I had a really limited wardrobe during my pregnancy, and again after having her.  When I became pregnant with my son, I began searching for maternity clothes that I could still breastfeed in because my daughter was still nursing.  During my search, I stumbled upon BisKot Maternity and Nursingwear.  What a great idea!  Clothes I can wear for both!  When they agreed to a review, I was so happy!  When the shirt arrived, I was even more excited.

I received the Miruku short sleeve shirt.

All of the clothing is made from modal, which is a form of rayon made from spinning reconstituted cellulose from beech trees.  Modal is smooth, soft and breathes well.  It is machine washable and resists shrinkage.  Each piece in the collection has an Asian name, and a distinct Asian flair to it’s styling.
The shirts come in 5 different sizes from XS up to XL.  The entire collection of clothing is made and designed in Canada.  BisKot is the clothing line associated with Omaiki, makers of cloth diapers.

When I received my shirt, I was struck with this gorgeous blue color when I opened the package.  When I pulled out the shirt, I was surprised at how incredibly soft the shirt was.  I figured that it would probably fade in color and softness the more I washed it, but that hasn’t happened yet.

The shirt has a double layer of material over the top, you pull it up or down to feed baby.  Out of all of the nursing clothes that I have found, this style opening is the most discreet and simple to use that I have found.  You open it up for baby to nurse, and baby covers up any skin that may show, so no worries about flashing people!  I have had tons of comments in my breastfeeding group about what a great shirt this is.  I have a lot of shirts with the up and down slit to feed baby, and when I feed my little Charlie man, I feel like I am still exposed. With this shirt, the top half of the front lifts up, so you can easily nurse baby yet keep the rest of you covered.

There is also a little BisKot charm that attaches by the hip that you can change from one side to the other for a discreet way of keeping track of which side you nursed on last.

I was worried that once I had my baby, the shirt wouldn’t fit anymore.  I was sure that it would be so stretched out that I would have to pack it away.  Well, I was wrong.  When you wash the shirt, it doesn’t get all stretched out and reshapes itself.  After I had Charlie and most of my belly was gone, the shirt still fit perfectly.  I happen to be wearing the shirt right now, and it is fitting me perfectly still.  Yet while I was pregnant, and I tell you, I was huge – my BisKot maternity shirt kept my stomach covered completely!  I was having a lot of trouble keeping my belly covered this pregnancy because baby was all out in front and most of my shirts played peek a boo with the bottom of my stomach.  I love that I have been able to get so much more use out of this shirt and will continue wearing it for years to come with the rest of my pregnancies.

This is my very favorite nursing shirt right now and I hate when it is dirty!  After months of wearing it, it is still incredibly soft and comfortable.

If you are looking for some stylish maternity or stylish nursingwear, look no further!
