We just finished Jem Strikes Gold recently. It is recommended for ages 6-8 as a read alone but I have been reading it to my seven-year-old. What I love is that he has recently really taken a giant leap in his reading ability so he will take the book from me and do the reading aloud to me. The story is cute and about a few kids and he loves that. Plus – we have a friend who mined gold so we are panning for real gold and he thinks that is super cool!
