#FromBellyToBaby *Wonder Bumpers Review*

One of the most exciting parts about planning for a new baby is decorating the nursery.  A bumper set always seems to top the list for parents.  But your newborns safety is always the top priority.  If you are like me, you worry about them even when they are sleeping.  My daughter was never a good sleeper, even as a newborn she was never asleep more than 30 minutes at a time.  If she slept longer than that, I went into a panic. Now with Charlie, it’s the complete opposite.  At night, he sleeps 6 or 7 hours straight most nights, which only feeds my panic.  If you use a traditional crib bumper, you should be worried.  Did you know that in 2009, 665 babies died from accidental suffocation or strangulation while asleep?  A sad and very scary statistic.  Traditional bumper pads pose serious risks to babies.  Chicago has banned the use of these, and other cities are considering following suit.

Go Mama Go Designs, LLC was founded in 2006 by two mamas looking to create products that make life safer, easier and more enjoyable for new parents.  One of their products is Wonder Bumpers, smart vertical crib bumper pads.  Wonder Bumpers are a safe alternative to traditional bumpers that protects babies from hitting their head or other body parts on hard crib rails.

This is the one I received – the Safari Set.  It comes complete with 38 reversible Wonder Bumpers,  coordinating crib sheet, blanket and bedskirt.  The Wonder Bumpers are made of 100 % cotton with poly – foam insert and lead free zippers.  Wonder Bumpers increase air flow in the crib and reduce CO2 re – breathing.  Because they zip snugly around each individual crib rail, they eliminate suffocation and entanglement risks.  They also keep babies limbs inside, and keep your toddler from being able to climb out of the crib – a huge plus!  Wonder Bumpers are made to fit  any crib.  Simply zip each bumper around the rail from top to bottom.

It’s as easy as 1…2…3…

Fold around rail

Connect zipper

Zip to bottom

Tada!

The pull on the zipper will be out of reach of little hands.  There are no ties on these, so there is no entanglement risk from them.  They also zip on and off easily making them easy to wash.  Not only that, Wonder Bumpers have been excluded from the ban on bumpers because they are safe! Need more than 38 bumpers?  Simply order more in the handy 2 packs  .

Because they are reversible, it’s like getting 3 Wonder Bumper sets in one!  You can have the solid green, the safari print, or you can alternate them.  I like knowing that if we change the theme of the bedroom, we can switch to the solid green side if we choose. Plus, it’s nice knowing that when I peek in at my (hopefully) sleeping baby, I can see right from the doorway if he or she is awake.

The Wonder Bumper Set comes with the bumpers, a blanket, a bed skirt, and matching sheet.

The blanket is so soft and big!  I just want to cuddle with it.  It is 36″ x 48″ and made from 100 % polyester.  The blanket is double sided with brown on one side, cream on the other, and trim on the blanket that matches the bumpers.  It tucks neatly into a toddler bed and your kids will be using it for years to come!

They  also sell a variety of safe sleep accessories –

Swaddle Blankets, Teething Guards, Window Treatments, Crib Sheets, Dust Ruffles and Changing Pad Covers and Blankets.  Plus, they sell Wonder Bumpers to fit Stokke cribs.

Just for fun, here is a picture of the one that I want! Love love love this pattern!!!  Tractor Trails

  • That’s such a great idea! No, my son’s not a good sleeper. He’s 4 months old, and still only sleeps 2 hours at a time at night. During the day, he naps for about 20-30 minutes at a time. He still sleeps in our room in a bassinet, and I’m hoping he’ll sleep longer once he’s in his own room, and it’s quieter (my husband is a terrible snorer).

  • My daughter isn’t such a great sleeper. She’s fine once we can get her into the crib, but transferring her there can be disastrous! We co-slept for the first 5 months or so, but she’s just too wiggly and squirmy now for any of us to get a good sleep!

  • Thankfully, I have a pretty good sleeper most of the time, unless she is sick or learning something major. She didn’t sleep at all when she learned to pull up to standing in her crib- she didn’t know how to get back down and ended up crying for us all night long!

  • My son is a great night time sleeper… wakes around 4 or 5 AM and comes to our bed fro a few hours so we can all get more sleep. He does not do well with naps tho. Hoping baby #2 is a good sleeper when he/she comes in February

  • I love the look of these! My biggest sleep problem with my daughter is when I try to get her down for a nap, as soon as I lay her down she is awake but could sleep in my arms for a long time :/

  • Knock on wood, we are currently sleeping well! Since this is Baby #2, we’ve learned a couple things along the way and fortunately they are working for our second as well 🙂

  • We for the most part have a good sleeper. She was getting up in the middle of the night for a bottle but she seems to have stopped that. We just switched her from a bassinet to a crib and tho we had a rough start the first night things have gone smoothly now!!!

  • Now that I am on baby #2 I have a few tricks that help infants sleep through the night. As soon as my daughter came home from the hospital we swaddled her. At 6 weeks old she slept 10-11 hours a night. Now she is 4 and is still a great sleeper. My son is due in 8 weeks and I am swaddling him for sure. Of course everybody loves Go Mama Go Designs products. Their swaddle blankets are the easiest to put on your baby, a lot easier than the ones from the hospital. They also last forever. I still have a few from my daughter and they are good as new. Pick up a few of the swaddle blankets from Go Mama Go Designs and you will be on your way to saying goodbye to sleepless nights.

  • Oh my these look great! With number 2 coming this would make me feel a lot better about him sleeping in his crib. With my first we were very lucky – by 6 weeks he was sleeping 8+ hours a night!

  • We have two great sleepers. They both sleep about 10 hours a night and have since they were 8 weeks old. Still have a 4 year old that takes a 2-3 hour nap in the afternoon! I think a routine is the most important thing

  • My son is pretty decent for 3 months old – he sleeps from 9:30 to 5:30ish then takes a bottle then sleeps in his swing from 6:00-9:00 but I’d love him to go down a little earlier. I’m not complaining though, I think he is doing great.
