To say I am a huge football fan would be a total understatement. I pretty much bleed green and gold. Even my kids know to not bug mommy on FOOTBALL DAY. Seriously though, my 2 year old wakes up and says, “Mommy, it’s FOOTBALL DAY!” Game day is a fun day and they usually watch at least part of the game with me. I love having friends and family over for the game, and the playoffs are the perfect time for a party, especially when our team is playing. When my sister told me they would be coming out to watch the game, I knew I wanted to make it awesome.
Game Day is Better With Delicious Treats
I put a ton of thought into what to make for the party, and my sister and I had tons of fun putting it all together. I thought deep fried SNICKERS® sounded fun and different, and I’m excited to share the recipe with you so you can make it for the big game as well.
Here’s what you need to get started.
~SNICKERS Large Funsize Bag
~Food Coloring in your teams colors.
Not only are these Deep Fried SNICKERS Footballs easy to make, you can pick up all of the ingredients on your next trip to Walmart.
To get started, get your kids to help unwrap all of the SNICKERS bars. Then, place one SNICKERS in the center of a wonton wrap.
By dipping your finger in a bowl of water and then placing it on the end of the SNICKERS wrapped wonton, it will stay together.
Carefully place a few wonton wrapped SNICKERS into the oil. We only needed to have them in for less than a minute, then flip and let it brown on the other side. Have a plate ready with a paper towel covering it. Place wontons on it after removing them from the oil.
Split the frosting into two bowls. In each bowl, add the food coloring to get your desired colors. We went with green and yellow.
Make a straight line down each wonton, and 3 short lines across it. Now you have transformed your SNICKERS wrapped wonton into a football in your team colors to make sure you and all of your fans are ready for the big game. These are best served hot, but didn’t last long even when they were cold, so they are sure to be a hit at your game day party.
We didn’t stop there though, we wanted it to really look like game day. Complete with bowls of chips, a summer sausage and cheese platter, and our Life Savers® goal post, we were ready for the game!
This is what we made for game day. Now, what are you serving to the rough and rowdy crowd for the big game?
