Maybe you haven’t met us in real life yet, but let me share something about these kiddos of mine. They are snack addicts. They are convinced that once we finish a meal, we should immediately start talking about snack time. It use to bug me until I made one very simple rule. You can snack at any time as long as it comes from the bottom half of the refrigerator. That half is usually full of fruits, vegetables, sometimes cheese, and yogurt. Let’s be honest, if the kids don’t eat at mealtime because they filled up on carrots, you are probably winning as a parent anyways.
Every week we start our grocery shopping trip by hitting up the fresh produce section at Walmart. We love the market fresh fruits and vegetables we can buy while getting the rest of our groceries. We have a system and I get what I need for our meal plan and the kids each get to pick out something they really want to have. Usually that means bananas, carrots, blueberries and celery. Sometimes, they change it up and ask for some fruit or vegetable I don’t know what to do with so I have to hit up my friendly Pinterest account.
While I am all for eating tons of fruits and vegetables, sometimes we just want something else. When I saw the Farm Rich line of products in the freezer section at Walmart, I decided to pick up a few things because when my niece and nephew are here, they always want something quick and easy to make. I knew the kids would love the Pepperoni Pizza Bites and the Breaded Mozzarella Sticks. I knew the Boneless Chicken Buffalo Bites and the Jalepeno Peppers would be a hit as well. I also knew that the kids would love their snack even more if I whipped up some homemade dipping sauces for them. Guess what – I was right! When they saw what I was making, they couldn’t wait to sneak those chubby little fingers onto the plate of food.

I decided to make them a homemade marinara sauce and a homemade ranch dip. The ranch sauce only took minutes to make, and the marinara sauce didn’t take much longer than that. Since the kids loved them so much, I figured I would share the recipes with you.
The kids love helping to make homemade ranch dip because it is really fast and easy and they get to help decide how much of each spice to add in. I always add a lot of dill, but if it were up to me, I would just make regular old dill dip, but the kids can’t get enough ranch.
