This may be the nicest summer I can remember. You know, not too hot, not too rainy. I’m pretty sure that where our house is, we have just lucked out. Even being 7 months pregnant, it is just plain gorgeous out. I can enjoy being outside instead of getting overheated so quickly. Because of the great weather, dinner is the last thing on my mind. Yet, I still have to make dinner. Every night. For me, a good, summertime dinner means a good, family meal that doesn’t take much time and doesn’t break the bank. Oh yeah, and I don’t want to spend a lot of time cleaning up afterwards. Salsa Mac & Cheese is one of my go to meals because it can be made in under 20 minutes, in one pan, and, I can stay on budget with Kraft coupons.
To get started, here are the ingredients you need.
1 lb. hamburger
1 Box KRAFT Macaroni and Cheese
KRAFT Shredded Cheddar Cheese
Corn, frozen or canned works fine, as much as you want to add
1 Jar Salsa or approximately 2 cups – I like to use the thick and chunky salsa
2 Cups Water
TACO BELL® Sour Cream Dip
I bet you can find most of those ingredients already in your house. If you can’t, you can use these 20 featured coupons to save on your summer must haves on your next trip to Walmart. Get your cart #PackedWithSavings today! These coupons are available in limited quantities so get them before they are gone.
Now, onto the easy part – the cooking. Did I mention that clean up is a breeze too? This tasty meal is made in one pan.
Cook up the ground hamburger. Drain any leftover grease.
Add KRAFT macaroni & cheese {just noodles, not cheese packet}, 2 cups of salsa and 2 cups of water. Bring to a boil. Simmer, covered for about 10 minutes, stirring a few times.
Add cheese packet and corn and cook for 2-4 minutes.
Spoon onto plates and top with KRAFT shredded cheese and TACO BELL® Sour Cream dip.
There you have it. A delicious, family meal in under 20 minutes so you can get back to the important things in life – like playing with the family outside. We have on occasion used our homemade salsa for this which the kids really love because then they get to help cook dinner.
What are your favorite summertime meals to get you and your family back enjoying the beautiful weather?
We make a lot of chef’s salads and have a lot of family taco nights at our house during the Summer. Make your own pizzas are always a hit too! #Client
does the salsa make it hot it look good with out salsa
I don’t think so. I use a mild salsa. My 3 year old still thinks it is a little hot, but she doesn’t like anything even with a hint of spice to it. My 2 year old loves it and doesn’t think it is hot.
