Since John is finally on board with us homeschooling the kids, I figured I should kick my planning into high gear. While Maggie isn’t old enough for kindergarten yet, I figured that since John is laid off right now, he could get a glimpse of what our day is like. First up was some Snowman math. I’ve found, at least with Charlie, that working on trays helps keep him on task and keep him from spreading out all over the place as he works on something. I bought these 6 colorful trays from Amazon and the kids love them. They are so excited to see what they are going to do and to see which color tray they get.
This printable snowman math activity is simple to prep and fun for the kids. While Maggie is probably too old for this activity, she still enjoys it. It’s perfect for Charlie and he loves hands on activities. I imagine one of their favorite things about this activity is the buttons. Buttons are just fun, right? He loves doing things with his hands so he has fun with this. He doesn’t recognize all of the numbers yet so I help him with that – so does Maggie.
To use this activity, print out the activity sheet below. Cut the pieces out and set them on a learning tray with a bowl of buttons. Place a hat on the snowman and have your little learner add the corresponding number of buttons.
I hope your kids enjoy this activity as much as mine have. I’d love to know what other printables you would like to see.
