Over the last few weeks, while having a playdate with my dear friend Katie, the conversation turned to furniture, again. We both just use furniture we have been given, which is great, but we can acknowledge that it’s time for a change. Our conversation went something like this: The 1990’s called, they want their couch back. If that sentence rings true for you, it’s time to plan for a décor upgrade in 2014. Forget the pricey interior designer, Sears’ Furniture Collection can help turn your living room from drab to style magazine-worthy in no time. From traditional to modern, Sears’ furniture collection has something for everyone. You have the option to mix and match pieces from each collection to suit your taste or shop the entire collection for a matching look. Still need help making a décor decision? Follow these easy tips:
– Find color inspiration from a favorite wall color or painting. This will be the focus of your design choices
– When shopping for the living room, don’t overstuff the room. Plan for ample walking room between furniture pieces
– Tie the room together with matching pillows, a rug and other accessories
Lastly, upgrade your room in small payments using FREE Sears Layaway (no service fee) through 3/24, valid on new Layaway contracts only. After it’s all said & done, your friends will be begging for your designer’s phone number. Now that I know about FREE Sears Layaway, we could actually afford to update our furniture!

I never think of Sears as a place to buy furniture. I think of them more for tools and appliances so thank you for the reminder that they are more than that 🙂
Me neither! I always think clothes and tools. And the fridge. They have the one I really want!
This makes me want to shop for furniture! Most of the furniture in our apartment came with the apartment. It’s rather mismatched. I’d love to have furniture that expresses my style, that I personally like and picked. You should have seen my old couch. lol The 70s were calling for that thing!

That’s exactly what my friend Katie and I keep discussing. All of our furniture was hand me downs which is awesome, but it would be fun to pick out some new stuff.
At some point, I’m going to need to consider getting new furniture. I’d like to wait until my children are housebroken. Then? A nice leather couch that can survive anything would be good.

Haha, Suzi, you make me laugh – housebroken, hehe. John keeps talking about replacing our couch, then I remind him we have two dogs and two toddlers.
