I was ridiculously happy when I found out we were getting the Shark Rotator Powered Lift-Away Speed™ to review.  I HATED our current vacuum and could not wait to get it out of this house so I never had to see it again.  When it arrived, I tore into it like a kid in a candy store.  I started walking around the house telling the kids we had to get all of the floors cleaned up so I could check this thing out.  I had no clue just how much I was going to love this thing.  I can’t wait to tell you about it.

Ease of Use

My old vacuum was so heavy that I dreaded having to use it, and forget about changing attachments, it was terrible.  The Shark Rotator Powered Lift-Away Speed™ is amazing.  It is lightweight and I can steer it all around with one hand.  I can practically do a figure eight with it.  How awesome is that?!  Changing attachments takes only seconds and a four year old can do it.  I’m not joking about that, my four year old does it all of the time.  I’ll tell you more about that in a bit.  Everything is clearly marked so there is no guessing or wondering how to change from carpets to hardwood floors.

Versatility

Not only can I go almost effortlessly from carpet to hardwood floor but I can also use it on the stairs without a long vacuum arm getting in the way or making it fall down the stairs.  Because it is designed with pets in mind, using the pet attachments for the stairs or the furniture is a breeze.  I was so tired of sweeping only to have dog hair just blow around the entire time.  Now, I vacuum it up and quit worrying about it.  The multiple attachments allow this vacuum to clean from floor to ceiling effortlessly.

Effectiveness

The first time I used the Shark Rotator Powered Lift-Away Speed™ , I was grossed out by just how much my old vacuum was leaving behind.  It looked like I had never vacuumed the floor before.  It sucks up so much from my floor and I’m so glad I can now lay on the floor again knowing how clean it is.

Easy Clean

Not only is emptying the canister incredibly simple with just the touch of a button, but you know how annoying it is when your long hair gets wrapped around the brush roll and your vacuum no longer works as well?  That isn’t the case wit this bad boy.  On the brush roll, there are two indented lines across the brush roll.  When you need to clean the brush roll, use a coin to open the three spots and lift it open.  Slide a pair of scissors through each of the indentions and pull the loosened hair out.  Close it back up with three simple twists and you are on your way.

I spent the first couple weeks hounding the kids to find something to clean so that I could vacuum.  Fast forward a couple more weeks and now the kids are fighting over who gets to vacuum.  I’m as serious as can be about that.  In fact, just the other day, my four year old stopped what he was doing to say that he had to clean up the living room so that he could vacuum it.  That’s exactly what he did.

When he was finished, he emptied the canister into the garbage and proceeded to tell me that he had to do the wood floor next.  He went around, cleaned up the wood floor, switched out the attachment and vacuumed. It was a great help when I was getting ready for us to head to the cabin for the weekend.  I use to have to fight to get the kids to pick up their toys and other messes.  Now, they do it a few times a day so they can vacuum again.  My house has never been cleaner and I’m not even trying to make this happen!  Charlie usually hates when I want to take his picture for something but now, every time he empties the canister he yells for me to take his picture.  

I never knew that a vacuum could make my life better, but there you have it folks.  My days are better because cleaning up doesn’t annoy me near as much.  {I use to be so much cooler than this!}.  I could go on and on and on about the amazing features of the Shark Rotator Powered Lift-Away Speed™ but I’ll just touch on a few more.
